Pilot support · Austin, Texas

Make the pilot answer a plant question.

Wexumi provides industrial pilot planning and pilot implementation support for industrial companies in the United States. We define the trial boundary and the evidence needed to decide whether the next phase is justified.

Price basis: Pilot boundaries, site readiness, review cadence, and handoff needs. Scope and fees follow a conversation. Inquiry-only; no pilot result or implementation outcome is guaranteed.

Temporary instrumentation still needs a defined operating boundary. Illustrative process-line context, not a verified Wexumi installation or client site.

The pilot should end with a decision, not just more data. That requires a named owner who can decide whether to continue and a test boundary that makes the result interpretable.

Our pilot implementation support connects the proposed technology to the conditions under which it must work. We help define what is changing and what remains fixed, then record what must be true before installation, testing and handoff can proceed. A supplier's demonstration is an input. It is not automatically evidence of fit for your process.

The deliverable is a pilot plan and gate record suited to the agreed scope. It includes measures, responsibilities and review points, with unresolved dependencies left visible. If the equipment performs but the evidence cannot support the intended decision, the gate should say so.

The pilot gate

Record what must be true before the next phase.

These four gates describe a working sequence, not a promise of four approvals. A gate can hold the project while a missing condition is resolved, or stop a route that the evidence no longer supports.

01

Ready to prepare

The question is bounded and the accountable owner is named. The team can describe its baseline, the proposed change and the decision the trial supports. If the question is still “see what the technology can do,” the preparation gate remains open.

02

Ready to run

The client's authorized people have addressed access and site requirements. The measurement plan is workable, installation responsibilities are clear and the pause or stop route is understood. Wexumi records these dependencies; its advisory review is not permission to operate equipment.

03

Ready to decide

Results are linked to the actual operating conditions and deviations are recorded. The team checks whether the evidence distinguishes the proposed effect from changes in material, machine state or measurement. A clean trend chart does not close a missing baseline.

04

Ready to hand over

The decision owner accepts the next action and its limits. Open technical issues have owners, temporary arrangements have a removal or continuation decision, and the receiving team knows which results do not yet generalize to wider operation.

A passed test is not approval to scale. The next authorization can be another bounded test, a design assessment or removal of the trial equipment. Wider deployment needs its own evidence and approvals.

Measures before installation

Industrial pilot planning starts with the measure.

Industrial pilot planning starts by asking what observation would change the decision. The answer determines the measurement, not the other way around.

For a pressure-related trial, record whether the signal is gauge or absolute pressure and where it is taken. A reading upstream of a restriction answers a different question from one downstream. For temperature, identify the sensor location and whether the reading represents the process material or a nearby surface. Units and locations belong in the plan before anyone compares traces.

Sampling must fit the event. A slow record may miss the transient the team is trying to understand; an extremely frequent record can create a large file without useful extra information. The measurement interval is a project-specific choice based on the phenomenon and the instrument, not a generic value promised here.

We also separate a technical measure from an operating measure. A detection method may identify a feature reliably under controlled lighting while creating an unacceptable checking task in production. Record that burden. Hiding it outside the pilot boundary gives the decision owner an incomplete result.

  • 01

    Make the baseline comparable

State which material and operating conditions the baseline represents. If the pilot runs on a different grade or production pattern, identify the difference before interpreting an improvement.

  • 02

    Agree how exceptions are recorded

Missing readings and interrupted runs remain in the record. An exclusion needs a reason. Do not remove awkward observations simply because they weaken the preferred conclusion.

  • 03

Set the decision rule in advance

The owner agrees what evidence permits the next step and what would stop it. Thresholds come from the project's operating needs, measurement limits and approved boundary.

  • 04

    Preserve a route back

Temporary arrangements need a defined end. The client's responsible personnel determine the safe removal or restoration work and who may authorize it.

Handoff checklist

Leave the next team a usable record.

A pilot can lose its value after the final review. The temporary specialist leaves, the data folder remains and nobody can explain which settings produced the result. Handoff is part of the scope, not a courtesy at the end.

We organize the decision record around the receiving team's next responsibility. If the result supports another test, the handoff identifies what that test still needs to resolve. If the route stops, it records why so a later team does not repeat the same unsupported assumption.

  • The decision and its authority are recorded.

The owner states whether the route proceeds, changes or ends. The handoff identifies exactly what has been authorized, without implying permission for wider deployment.

  • The evidence can be interpreted.

Results remain connected to the trial configuration and known deviations. A receiving engineer should not have to guess which run or material a chart describes.

  • Temporary arrangements have an owner.

Instruments, access arrangements and partner support are either continued by explicit agreement or assigned for closeout under the client's procedures.

  • Unresolved work stays visible.

Each open action has a responsible role and a review point. A maintenance concern does not disappear because it falls outside the supplier's performance report.

  • The limits travel with the result.

State which operating conditions were not tested and what remains unknown. Successful evidence within one boundary does not establish behavior outside it.

How the support runs

Stay close to the work without taking over the plant.

  1. 01

    Frame the trial

At scoping, agree the question and who owns it. Review whether the current evidence supports a pilot or whether diagnosis is still needed.

  2. 02

    Check readiness

Before the run, work through dependencies with the responsible site and partner contacts. Record unresolved items against the gate rather than assuming they are covered.

  3. 03

    Review the evidence

During the agreed review cadence, compare observations with the plan. Changes to conditions or scope trigger a discussion with the owner, not an invisible rewrite of the test.

  4. 04

    Close the decision

At handoff, document the conclusion and remaining limits. Assign closeout actions and identify what another phase would require before it is commissioned.

Review cadence is part of the agreed scope. Site access and qualified technical work remain subject to the client's arrangements; this page promises no installation date or result.

New or already underway

An existing pilot can still get a decision gate.

You do not have to start again simply because testing has begun. We can scope a review of the current boundary and evidence, then identify the next decision the available work can support. Missing baseline data remains missing; it is not reconstructed as fact.

Already working with a supplier or integrator? Wexumi's role can sit alongside that work, clarifying the operating question and the evidence needed by your decision owner. Technical execution and equipment responsibilities stay with the parties appointed to perform them.

This service is not a substitute for commissioning, detailed engineering or safety assessment. It is not suitable for an unsupervised experiment on operating equipment. If nobody can own the pilot or authorize a pause, resolve that responsibility before adding a support scope.

Use industrial problem diagnosis if the failure mode is unclear, or technology and partner search if the proposed route lacks credible capability. Industrial innovation strategy addresses a disputed investment decision. Where a pilot forms part of a proposed funded project, industrial grant support connects its work packages to the application evidence without promising an award.

Scope the next gate

Tell us what the trial has to settle.

Start with the process question and whether the pilot is planned or already running. Identify the internal owner if one is assigned. A plain description is enough for the initial conversation; do not submit confidential operating records through the public form.

The price basis reflects the pilot boundary, site readiness, review cadence and handoff needs. A focused gate review is a different scope from support through a sequence of tests. We agree the boundary before the work begins.

Services are inquiry-only. No payment or booking is taken here. Scope, fees and any engagement-specific commitments are confirmed separately in writing.
